Gateway Projects
Squeaky Productions currently works with the local Gateway club for adults with learning disabilities providing film and theatre projects. To date we have worked on four large productions with the group which comprised;
-
The Silent Movie – a ten minute short film in the style of a silent movie presented with a live piano player at the Old Town Hall.
-
The Wild Wild West – another film in the style of a B-Movie, this time the group helped construct the story and compose the music as well as build the set etc..
-
The Magic Clock – This took the form of a live performance in the style of a pantomime again constructed by the group. There were two sold out performances at the Old Town Hall theatre.
-
The Time Machine and the TV of Doom – Another live performance on a grand scale, this time with multi media and a whole host of other surprises provided by the group themselves.
Please feel free to go to the gallery to see some photographs of the groups work.
As well as providing large scale projects we also provide the group with one off sessions including video, dance and drama. In which we provide a fun and educational experience that hopefully provide skills for the larger projects the group undertakes.
Development
An area that we are hoping to develop is supporting the group to take on the other roles involved in putting on a performance.
One aspect we hope to make accessible to the group is the technical side of realizing the shows. We are putting together equipment comprising switch technology that will allow members of the group to sit in the control room and operate the lights and sound of the show using an interface that is appropriate for their needs.
We hope the more roles we can give to the group the more ownership and confidence each individual will take away from the experience.
